Educational activities

The education aspect concerns the accrediting and overseeing of relevant courses for bankers conducted by the University of the South Pacific, Fiji Institute of Technology, Unoiversity of Fiji and other such tertiary institutions, local and from overseas.

The Institute monitors all such courses to ensure that they are:-

  • of an internationally acceptable standard,
  • relevant to the banking industry,
  • available part-time and through extension services.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

CPD encompasses all those educational activities arranged for bankers to keep them abreast of current trends, new technology, new legislation and all other facets relevant to banking. Such CPD activities also include lectures and seminars.

A good banker's education process never ceases during his/her working life. The Institute therefore tries to ensure that its memebership proviided with the necessary facilities and opportunities in order to acquire banking education and knowledge continually.

The FIB stands ready to assist the banker wherever possible in the achievement of excellence through study.

At the present time broad based lectures on a variety of subjects and topics are undertaken at regular intervals for members.  Speakers and presenters are chosen from a cross section of the Financial Services Sector. Presentations are well prepared and deliveries are of a high standard.
